Conversion Costs
With the LPG conversion being
based on the existing Nissan black cab engine
the conversion can be tailored to the condition
of the engine.
At present the complete engine
is stripped inspected and rebuilt with: the
Jaymic modified cylinder head, new pistons,
new cylinder liners, bearings, oil pump, water
pump, gaskets, core plugs, etc. etc.
|

|
It is possible with a low mileage, unworn engine,
that the engine could be converted with just the Jaymic
modified cylinder head, thus reducing conversion costs.
With this option no guarantee could be given for the
bottom half of the engine.
Fairway - LPG Fairway conversion
with complete engine rebuild £5,875 including
VAT.
TXI – LPG TXI conversion with
complete rebuilt engine is to be announced for various
engine numbers. Due to slightly different pistons
and con-rods in some of the TXI engines the price
may be slightly more expensive (maximum £500
including VAT).

Booking a Conversion
You can pre-book your conversion, without paying
a deposit, 2-months to 2 plus years in advance. See
our booking form.
Deposit
A 10% deposit is required one month before your
conversion date.
Conversion time
Conversion time is 5 working days. This may be reduced
to 3 days with large-scale production facilities coming
on stream towards the end of 2005.
Proposed Conversion
Programme
Until the proposed new conversion unit is up and
running we are limited to the number of cabs we can
convert per week. To make it fair to the cab drivers
and operators most affected by the Mayor of London’s
emissions strategy we would prefer to book your conversion
in a month before your annual PCO licensing inspection
is due.
Finance
This should be available soon for both converted
cabs and for the Jaymic LPG conversion. Please contact
us for the latest information.
Are there any hidden
extras?
Collection and delivery
The price for conversion is ex-works. You can either
arrange collection and delivery yourself or leave
your cab at one of our London service agents and pay
approximately £100 delivery and collection charge.
Some of our agents may be able to rent you a cab whilst
yours is being converted.
Tank of LPG
When your cab is converted, the fuel tank needs
to be filled, to check the operation of the 80% shut-off
valve. The fuel cost to fill the tank is approximately
£32. This is not really an extra as you will
be able to use this LPG.
Surcharges on engine rebuild
With the conversions we have carried out to date;
most of the cabs have been high mileage examples with
worn engines that have had parts that could not be
reconditioned. The surcharges are as follows if parts
of the engine are not re-usable (surcharge prices
do not include VAT):
Cylinder head cracked or badly distorted - £300
Engine block cracked or has excessive corrosion -
£300
Crankshaft not suitable for regrinding - £100
Camshaft not suitable for regrinding - £100
Oil cooler assembly is not suitable to be reused -
£100
Don’t let this surcharge list frighten you,
as to date, we have not found a problem engine block,
crankshaft or camshaft.
